Pretty scary to think that it has already been 8 weeks and it means that I will have to go back to New Zealand in just under 5 weeks...will anyone notice if I stay for a bit longer?

21-22 January ~ It was a pretty quiet weekend. On the Sunday we went over to Christine and Frederick's house for afternoon tea where we had galette des Rois (one apple and one frangipane) - which is an absolutely delicious food in France...something NZ needs I think. Also with the Galette is a crown (which is what I am wearing in the photo). Another family with an exchange student was there too (and who had been in France for about 5 or 6 months) and I talked with her a bit about how she settled in France and started speaking french etc. She said she would say what she knew in french and if she didn't know a word then she would say it in English (or Spanish) and her friends would correct her. She would also message her friends in french so she got used to writing in french. I think it was really helpful to speak with her - parts in french, parts in English - because I think it helped me think about how I can do that too.
To sum up my week at school

Monday - school started at 2 pm for me because I had no TPE project to finish and there was no maths so it was just a day of biology and physical-chemistry. What fun!
Tuesday - when they were in history and doing a test, I got to go to the library and I read Calvin and Hobbes...yes they have that book in their school library which is amazing because those books are great.
Thursday - A very crazy day. At lunch, I swear we were all just laughing at the most stupid things. It also involved stolen cheese, embarrassing photos and bad jokes. Ida and I (after lunch) had a really good talk and left with no 'dabs' (doubts...) hehe. Even over in France, we still discuss over favourite Disney movies so I am pretty sure it must be a normal thing to do because I do it with my friends in New Zealand. Or maybe that just means it is really weird because both friend groups can be a bit strange...but it's okay because I must be strange as well. Probably one of the strangest.

Friday - Last day of school for three weeks! Because I am not doing the big tests (like the NCEA tests I think), I get an extra week of holiday. So now everybody hates me (not really but it is fun to tease them). In the morning, the bus was about 20 min late so we ended up getting a lift to school to get there on time - Thank you Matthieu! A normal day but without maths last because the teacher wasn't there. After our classes had finished, we stayed at school and played cards and took a lot of photos...not all were nice but I won't show you the bad ones.
That has been my week! It seems a bit short in writing compared to some of the other weeks, but it definitely doesn't mean it wasn't as good! I really enjoyed this week and while I will definitely miss all of my friends, I wish them all good luck in their exams and I am excited for the holidays.
