This blog is a bit late again but that's okay, I'm sure you all survived without hearing from me for like 2 days longer than a week.

So! Let's start with Saturday 7th January, Aimy's birthday party. Coline, Julie (look I managed to spell your name right!), and Laurine all came and it was a really cool weekend. We chilled and talked and played Mario Kart and Just Dance (for my first time and wow I am bad but it is so much fun and actually very tiring). Then we ate dinner and played cards until midnight. When it hit midnight we all said "Joyeux Anniversaire" to Aimy (Happy Birthday) and opened presents and ate cake. Then we stayed up until 3:30am and had a very relaxed morning. The whole party honestly felt like one that I would have with my friends, I guess teenagers will be teenagers anywhere! On Aimy's birthday (the Sunday), her grandparents came over and we had a very nice lunch and afternoon tea. Again, the evening was very relaxed but I had a very cool weekend with some awesome people.

My week consisted of being sat on in the hall, playing Les Loups-Garous, watching people being shocked by electricity "for science", an entertaining Spanish lesson, reading French (where I learnt to really not enjoy saying words with "R" in it, but thank you Coline for putting up with the terrible pronunciation), listening to Ed Sheeran's new songs, doing my first test in France where I answered questions, and helping to teach children. Quite a bit so I will explain some of these points a bit more...

In physical-chemistry we were working on questions about electricity/ static electricity and at the end of the lesson, our teacher showed us an interesting bit of equipment that generated electricity and looked awesome in the dark. When two people touched a certain part of it and pointed their fingers towards the other ones, they got a shock on their fingers. Me, absolutely hating electric shocks, did not try this but it was certainly entertaining to watch the others do it.

I am very, very glad I did year 12 chemistry because the test I did was about Organic Chemistry - Lewis diagrams, isomers, geometric isomers... that stuff is hard enough to understand in English but luckily I was able to remember parts of it which helped so much with understanding it in French. The test was still confusing but I am pretty sure I got one question right so that is a record for me in France so far!

So on the Friday, my class had a 4 hour French test which would have been sorta pointless for me...especially because I have never even done a 4 hour English test. Instead, I stayed at home for the morning and then in the afternoon, went to Matthieu's school to help out with hockey and English which was really fun. The kids kinda liked having me there I think - does not letting me go and consistently hugging me count? The hockey was like any kids learning but it was awesome to go along and help out a bit. The English part was good for me and the kids, I definitely continue to learn more and more words everyday.

That has been my interesting week!
