What a way to end 2016 and to start to 2017.

For New Years Eve/ New Years, Aimy, Julie and I spent it at Coline's house. Aimy and I went over in the morning to do some English homework which took about 3 hours...although we only spent about an hour of that actually working on it. After we had finished, Julia came over and we all hung out until we got ready for the NY party. Everyone got dressed up and it was my first time wearing make up (apart from dance shows when I was 6 but that doesn't count). Getting ready with the others was really fun and of course, lots of photos were taken (because teenagers will be teenagers). Then we went downstairs and talked to the rest of the family/visitors that were at the house, played Table Tennis, Fooseball, Snapchat...all until dinner.

The dinner was so nice with a starter of yoghurt/vegetables and salmon, with a main consisting of potatoes, fried potatoes, a courgette dish and meat. Then we went back to chilling until about 11:59pm. When we realised there was only one minute left until 2017, we ran into the lounge to turn on the TV just in time for the 10 second countdown that was happening. We all joined in and cheered loudly when it changed to 12am. After that was dessert which was also delicious. Then back in the games room, the adults came and joined us and played an awesome multiplayer version of Table Tennis until we went back into the lounge to play a french version of "Cards Against Humanity" which was hilarious. Coline and I were in a team and actually won 2 rounds! The next thing we did was probably one of the most craziest things possible - go for a walk in -2 degree weather while it was snowing. While it wasn't one of my brightest or most fashionable moments, it was a whole lot of fun which really, is the most important thing. However, even though it was so much fun, I was definitely relieved to go back into the house where I could feel my legs again. Then we talked and listened to Disney songs until 5am when we decided to go to sleep...

Monday 2nd January marked exactly one month of me living in France. It is crazy to think it has already been one month and it is quickly moving through the second one. I am definitely understanding more (and now I certainly have to) as my friends at school decided they will only talk to me in french. Also because I do not want a repeat of what happened in History...the teacher asked me something and I just stared at him and nodded. Then he asked me if I understood and I nodded again so he repeated the question and I just said yes. Everyone burst out laughing (including me) because I was answering the exact wrong thing - well, not even answering anything really.

Tuesday was the first day back at school after the holidays and it was a very crazy day. First, the bus was late, then it went to the wrong school first so we were going to be even later. So Aimy and I were pretty much running to class only to find everyone standing outside because the teacher wasn't there..I just burst out laughing because it had been very hectic. Then there was meant to be a maths test but the teacher wasn't there so = no test. And lunch, like always, was crazy.

The rest of the week was pretty normal. It included a lot of classes, sleeping, eating, replaying Ed Sheeran's new songs and playing a game which is so fun. It's like Mafia but obviously the french version. I was absolutely lost to start with and remembering the name of the card and what they did and trying to listen to when they said you had to do it...it was hard! Towards the end of the day I think I got better and had a lot of fun.

(I will talk about this weekend in the next blog so it doesn't make this one too long!)
